Fun and Fearless in Beantown Loves Pestos with Panache

October 26, 2010

“Last Sunday night, I was eager to finally break open one of the tins of pesto that I purchased at the SOWA Food Truck Festival.  I first read about Pestos with Panache on Lara’s blog – Good Cook Doris.  After meeting Lauren at the SOWA Food Truck Festival, the person behind all of these interesting pesto flavor combinations, I knew I had to buy some!  I’ve had these tins of pesto in my freezer for awhile and I finally opened up the Fabulous Fig & Gorgonzola pesto on Sunday night.”

Now at Boston’s SoWa Food & Produce Market!

June 15, 2010

Ahhh, summer. It brings to mind some of life’s best memories, roof top cocktail parties, fun days on the beach, BBQs with friends, and of course, the emergence of your favorite local open air market. This summer, I am pleased to announce that Pestos with Panache is participating in a local market unlike any other, the SoWa Open Market in the South End neighborhood in Boston, MA.

I’m sure some of you are wondering, why Boston? Isn’t Pestos with Panache based out of Brooklyn, NY? As a few of you may know, I’m originally from Boston, so naturally I have a special place in my heart for the city! Also, one small confession, I have to admit that my pesto is not carried in as many stores in my hometown as I would like, so I’m hoping this will develop some Pestos with Panache fans in Bean Town! Finally, the SoWa Open Market is located in such a diverse and artistic neighborhood that is known for some of the best restaurants and markets in New England, it was the absolute perfect match. The SoWa market is unlike any other market, and Pestos with Panache is certainly unlike any other pesto!

Pestos with Panache will be at the SoWa Open Market Food & Produce Market (located behind one of my favorite spots, Rocca Restaurant) on Harrison Ave in the South End, Boston, MA. Check out the map provided by the SoWa Open Market here. Currently, we are signed on for five dates (but will hopefully be adding more to our calendar as we go on): June 20th, July 11th, August 8th, September 19th, and October 17th, each date our booth will be open from 10am-4pm.

As an added incentive, we will be doing a GIVE-AWAY! Each Sunday that Pestos with Panache participates in the SoWa Open Market, the first Pesto fan to visit our booth, take a picture in front of the Pestos with Panache Booth, and Post it to Twitter mentioning PWP receives a free tin of pesto of their choice!! What’s not to love?!

So if you have the chance, stop by, say hello, and let us know what you think! See you at SoWa!

Jeffrey Tastes Discovers Pestos with Panache

January 25, 2010

“Winter Warm-Up was touted to be a treasure trove of samplings from restaurants all over Queens, and I was excited to be a part of it!”

“The most satisfying tasting came from the next station, Pestos with Panache by Lauren. Not only did they provide little-spoon samples of their pestos, they provided two pastas that showcased two different pestos. The pumpkin chipotle pesto was really amazing. Wait, do I have their card?! Yes, I have their card. Whew.”

Pestos with Panache is a Hit at the Edible Queens Winter Warm Up Event!

January 25, 2010

“On Sunday, January 24, Edible Queens held our first event, An Edible Winter Warm-up presented in partnership with L haus, a truly amazing new building in Long Island City.”

“In a nutshell, the Warm-up was an opportunity to introduce you, one-on-one, to some of the restaurants, food artisans and contributors you’ve read about in the pages of our magazine. It was also an opportunity for us to start a conversation about The Queens Food Scene, especially where to go and what to order.”

“I really liked Pestos with Panache also. Maybe it’s because I like the word “panache.” Or maybe it’s because I eat pesto straight out of the jar. These pestos were different than what I’m used to though, and that’s what drew me in. They had Pumpkin Chipotle Pesto, Fig & Gorgonzola Pesto, and Prosciutto & Smoked Almond Pesto. Mmmmmm. Those three were my favorites, because they had such different flavors.”

Saving the Best for Last Discovers Pestos with Panache

November 8, 2009

Pestos with Panache – This company has many unique flavors of pesto made from all natural ingredients. Each one was yummier then the next, Pumpkin Chilpotle, Succulent Strawberry, Prosciutto and Smoke Almonds…my favorite was the Fabulous Fig and Gorgonzola. The gourmet pestos are sold in little tins at Whole Foods and they have fun recipes on their website, like Pumkin Chilpotle Pesto Scone with Manchedo Cheese Garnish. I will be cooking with these pestos very soon!”

“The space was filled with vendors offering tastes of wines, liquors, savory treats, and of course baked goods.  Next to us was Pestos with Panache by Lauren.  We were so busy offering brownie samples that I only had a chance to taste one of the yummy pestos they were sampling, the pumpkin chipotle.  Wow!  I wish I could have tried the others too!!”
