“We tasted more than 100 classic and nouvelle pestos last year in our Best Pesto Sauce review. Delicious as those pestos are, Pestos With Panache deserves its own review—and a Top Pick Of The Week at that—because, as founder Lauren Stewart intended, they liberate pesto far beyond its traditional role as a sauce for pasta.”

from a review of the National Restaurant Association Show at McCormick Place in Chicago.

“…she hit it [Bangin' Blueberry Pesto] out of the park, a neat perfect mingle of bright and airy and substantial and savory. And with the Pumpkin Chilpotle Pesto, she hit her stride. It’s smoky, with hints of cinnamon and a real earthy root-veggie, er… panache. Stewart is at the show looking for dist; she’s already in New York-area Whole Foods. Pray she makes it to Chicago. Your cocktail party needs it.”

“One of the latest in a long line of food producers in Brooklyn is Lauren Stewart, originator of Pestos with Panache, a line of basil-based sauces that redefine its traditional applications. With Bangin’ Blueberry, Pumpkin Chilpotle and Succulent Strawberry flavors, Ms. Stewart has certainly made a name for herself in Brooklyn’s culinary landscape.”

“And then there was Pesto with Panache by Lauren. They had four different varieties-Smoked Salmon, Blueberry, Strawberry and Pumpking Chilpotle, apparently they are sold frozen, defrosted and served- they were excellent pestos, the blueberry was especially good (and I am not a huge blueberry fan, so that says a lot).”
